Stewart, 40, became inspired to write The Little Frog book series while listening to a fellow Sunday school teacher speak to the children about how “FROG” stands for “Fully Rely On God.” in 2009. This concept sparked an idea in Crista, and she went home that very night and wrote “The Little Frog.” Stewart’s mission in writing “The Little Frog” book series is her hope to make a difference in a child’s life. Crista has always had a love for children.
She graduated from Edinboro University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education & Early Childhood Education. Crista owned and operated a preschool fitness program called Pre-fit in the Harrisburg area for 2 years then decided to sell, and move to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where her husband had roots. She went back to graduate school at the University of Pittsburgh and received a degree & certificate in Special Education where she began working for the Pittsburgh Public School District for 3 years. Crista then accepted a position in West Allegheny’s middle school special education department, and taught there for a year. Then she became a mother, and now stays home and raises her four children. Sometimes we tend to think that in order to go out into the mission field and make a difference you have to travel to a 3rd world country. Well, Stewart sees that there is a mission field right in her backyard in the Allegheny and Washington county area. She & her family foster children from the Washington county area, and they bring the mission field into their home.
Aside from family, writing, and church Crista loves health, the movies, being on a lake, dolphins, taking pictures, and being home. You’ll learn more about Crista through her blog… stay tuned!!!
